Histoire et mission de l'école
Le projet d’école de cybersécurité est annoncé en 2018 par les Ministres des affaires étrangères français et sénégalais lors de la quatrième édition du Forum International sur la Paix et la Sécurité en Afrique, qui s’était tenue à Dakar, les 13 et 14 novembre 2017. Ce forum international dédié aux nouveaux enjeux stratégiques du continent autour du thème « Défis sécuritaires actuels en Afrique : pour des solutions intégrées » a été le catalyseur d’un partenariat innovant et dynamique conclu entre le Sénégal et la France visant à l’ouverture au Sénégal, d’une Ecole nationale de Cybersécurité à Vocation Régionale (ENC-VR).
Le chantier est immédiat et l’école, dotée d’un plateau technique de dernière génération, accueille ses premiers auditeurs en 2021. Ce partenariat franco-sénégalais vient renforcer l’action du Sénégal dans le secteur numérique et ancrer ainsi le pays comme pôle d’excellence régional. L’école bénéficie d’une renommée croissante dans la région et fait l’objet de nombreuses sollicitations de pays africains, d’entreprises privées du secteur numérique et des télécommunications et d’organisations régionales et internationales.
